Buses in Kyiv are not being prepared for the evacuation of the population. The situation is currently under control, and the statement about alleged preparations has been taken out of context. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration on Telegram.
Specialists from the Kyiv City State Administration’s motor transport enterprise are currently repairing and refurbishing vehicles at the request of the military. They are also working on converting a bus for resuscitation and evacuation purposes, which will allow the evacuation of seriously wounded people from the front line.
‘We ask the media and bloggers not to spread false information and not to create reasons for panic,’ the post says.
Buses in Kyiv – how repairs are carried out
The Kyiv City State Administration also showed how scheduled repairs are progressing. The work is being carried out by specialists from Kyivpastrans.
Medium repairs help to extend the service life of electric transport. One repair takes about a month and is carried out once every 2-3 years.
Specialists carry out the following work:
- repair the body and replace the floor;
- repairing and, if necessary, replacing seats;
- updating electrical, pneumatic and mechanical equipment;
- carrying out painting work.
The heating system in the passenger compartment and driver’s cab is also being restored, adjusted and checked in order to prepare the transport for winter.
All trolleybuses are low-floor and barrier-free, with ramps, spaces for people with disabilities and prams.
