Summer time in Ukraine will be back in effect. On the night of 29-30 March, you should set your clocks forward by one hour at 03.00.
Modern mobile devices set the clocks forward automatically, so many people will not notice the change. At the same time, mechanical watches and other gadgets need to be set manually.
Since 1981, there has been a tradition of changing clocks. It is widely believed that this helps to save energy.
In July 2024, the Verkhovna Rada decided to vote in favour of cancelling the change of time. The document stated that Ukrainians were supposed to change their clocks on 27 October 2024 and stay on winter time. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not sign the bill, so it did not come into force.
