Ukraine still has record high price for beetroot – analysts

Buyers do not like the price of beetroot in Ukraine in June 2025. The supply is growing on the market, but the price remains unchanged and remains at a record high. This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.

The supply of beetroot harvested in 2024 is still limited. As a result, the price of these root crops has been at a record high for several months now, compared to last season’s prices.

The products go on sale for 25-33 UAH/kg ($0.60-0.80/kg), depending on the volume and quality of the batches, which is on average 21% higher than in the same period last year.

According to the experts, the new harvest beet season started around the same time as a year ago. The selling prices in June are fixed at 32-40 UAH/kg ($0.77-0.96/kg). The cost of such products is gradually decreasing. According to market participants, this season the price drop may be insignificant due to the lack of pressure on prices from the carry-over stocks of vegetables harvested in 2024.

Earlier, the price of carrots fell in Ukraine. This is happening amid limited supply.
