Two-tier tunnels and reversible dead ends are being built at metro stations in Vynohradar

The Autostrada company in Kyiv is constructing two-tier tunnels and roundabouts. The company is constructing two-tier tunnels between Prospekt Pravdy and Mostytska stations and reversible dead ends. The company’s press service reported this on Facebook.

Construction is ongoing around the clock. Tunnels are being constructed using solid-section lining blocks at Mostytska station complex. This was called the best solution for underground construction in difficult hydrogeological conditions.

According to experts, the solid geometry of the blocks ensures an even distribution of loads. More than 250 metres of tunnel structures have already been built.

Ground excavation and installation of pit supports for the next stages are underway. Concreting of the monolithic branching elements is also underway.

Walls, ceilings and tray monolithic slabs have already been erected at the reversible dead ends, as envisaged by the future Prospekt Pravdy station, which are used for train turnarounds and night stopping. Construction of a ventilation unit and a water collection sump has also begun.

Specialists are excavating the pit and stabilising the soil. The process is carried out using a complex and unique Jet Grouting technique. This is one of the few ways to effectively strengthen unstable and water-saturated soils, which significantly improves the bearing capacity of the foundation.
The construction of diaphragm walls using the wall-in-soil method is underway on the blocked section of European Union Avenue.

This is an important stage of the pit reinforcement, which ensures soil stability and safe conditions for the construction of underground structures.

At the same time, utility networks are being relocated here: sewerage, water supply, heating mains and medium and low pressure gas pipelines.
