Train ticket prices have risen in Kyiv and the surrounding region

Ticket prices in Kyiv and the surrounding region have risen.

The decision, which came into effect on 11 March, applies to commuter trains. This was reported by the public organisation ‘Passengers of Kyiv’.

From 11 March 2026, a commission fee has been introduced in Kyiv and the surrounding region for the purchase of tickets for suburban trains, depending on the chosen method of purchase:

– At ticket offices or directly on the train using payment terminals – 7.00 UAH.
– Via self-service terminals (PTKS) – 6.70 UAH.
– Using the automated payment system of the municipal enterprise “Main Information and Computing Centre” – 4.20 UAH.
– Via mobile POS terminals of the Municipal Enterprise ‘Main Information and Computing Centre’ on trains – 7.00 UAH.

No commission fee is charged when purchasing tickets via the ‘Ukrzaliznytsia’ JSC mobile app.

The total cost of a journey on the city commuter train, which was previously 15 UAH, now includes an additional commission depending on the payment method. Consequently, the amount varies from 19.20 UAH to 22 UAH, with the exception of purchases via the mobile app, where the price remains unchanged.

As a reminder, traffic patterns in central Kyiv will be altered on 8 March.
