Advertising in Kyiv is gaining momentum. There is a trend towards an increase in the number of signs and billboards.
As of the beginning of 2024, almost 22 thousand decorated advertising structures of all types were placed in Kyiv. This was reported by the Advertising Department, according to the KCSA.
Their number has increased by 5,243 over the past two years. Facade advertising and signage make up the largest number of decorated structures. In total, there are 16,819 units. Ground-based advertising media account for the largest share of decorated structures in the total number of placed structures. This figure refers to billboards and city lights. It is 97%.
There is a positive trend towards a decrease in the number of structures placed with certain violations. For example, over the past two years, the number of illegal signs and advertising media in the capital of Ukraine has decreased by 15%. According to the report, this is evidence of the city’s successful decisions in regulating advertising.
Oksana Polishchuk, Head of the Advertising Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, said that systematic dismantling of illegal structures contributed to the results. Active measures to inform businesses about the need to place advertising media and signage in accordance with the rules and adhere to the design code of the capital had a positive effect.
As a reminder, the Kyiv City State Administration has announced how much temporary housing has been provided to Kyiv residents from the buildings damaged by the Russian attack on 2 January.
