The Kyiv–Kryvyi Rih train ran over a man

In the village of Pidhirtsi, Obukhiv district, Kyiv region, a train travelling from Kyiv to Kryvyi Rih hit a 41-year-old man.

According to preliminary information from the police, the man was crossing the railway tracks wearing headphones and did not respond to the train driver’s signals. Despite the train’s emergency braking, the collision could not be avoided. The victim died at the scene.

Investigators from the Obukhiv District Police Department opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or railway transport operation rules.

The Kyiv Region Police emphasises the need for caution near railway tracks to protect life and health.
