Temperature above normal: weather forecaster gives Ukraine’s weather forecast for April 2025

The weather forecast for April 2025 suggests an increase in air temperature.

March in Ukraine turned out to be abnormally warm, sometimes record-breaking. This was reported by meteorologist Igor Kibalchich on the Meteoprog website.

The average monthly air temperature in many regions exceeded historical levels. Air from the south and southwest dominated almost the entire first month of spring. Short-term cooling was recorded only at the beginning and middle of the month.

Weather forecast in Europe

New data shows that the weather in April will change slightly and will not be the same as last month. The air temperature will rise, and a powerful anticyclone is expected to develop over Northern Europe, but it will weaken in mid-April.

Low atmospheric pressure is forecast in the Mediterranean and over the countries of southwestern Europe. The amount of precipitation depends on the distribution of cyclones and anticyclones. Most rains will be recorded in Southern Europe and Turkey.

These regions will experience heavy showers, hail and squalls for months. The total amount of precipitation for the month may reach 150-300% of the climatic norm. In the northern part of Europe, precipitation is expected to be well below normal. In the second half of April, most of the precipitation will fall amid intensifying atmospheric fronts and a gradual decrease in pressure.

Air temperatures in Europe will be quite high for this time of year. The weather in April is expected to be good compared to long-term averages. In Eastern and North-Eastern Europe, we should expect maximum deviations from the norm. In the Iberian Peninsula, the smallest anomalies are expected. This location will receive cold air from Greenland and the North Atlantic Ocean. In mountainous regions, such as the Carpathians and the Alps, the temperature will be in line with the climate norm, so there will still be sufficient snow cover.

Weather forecast in Ukraine

The weather in Ukraine will be warmer in April. As Igor Kibalchych explained, the average long-term temperature will be around +1.5…+2.7°C compared to the norm. This is the reason why the vegetation process of all plant species will be accelerated. The meteorologist said that if cold weather is recorded, it will not be frost, but frost. Given the positive average daily temperature, we should expect the air temperature to drop below 0°C.

Precipitation in Ukraine in April will be unevenly distributed. According to the expert, a certain amount of it will fall due to convective processes, which are more typical for the warm half of the year. In April, the amount of precipitation will still be in line with the climatic norm.

The figure may exceed the norm on the Left Bank by 20-50%. Throughout the month, the probability of snowfall is estimated to be rather low. This applies primarily to the plains, but the weather in the Carpathians will be slightly different. Snow will be recorded periodically in April, as it is the norm for this region.
