    ‘In the Svyatoshinsky district, there may be a temporary deterioration in air quality due to a fire on the territory of warehouses,’ the statement said.

    Until the air quality improves, the Kyiv City State Administration recommends closing windows and limiting time spent outdoors.

    An investigation is underway in Obukhiv district into the circumstances of a fire in which a man died. This was reported by the press service of the police in Kyiv region.

    A few days ago, the police received a report from the State Emergency Service about a fire in a two-storey building in the village of Plyuty. An investigative team, rescuers and medics arrived at the scene. While extinguishing the fire, the body of a 55-year-old man was found in one of the rooms of the building. He was temporarily living in the house because he worked as a labourer on a construction site.

    The preliminary cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit in the electrical network, but the State Emergency Service will provide its final conclusions after conducting all the necessary examinations and checks.

    Investigators from the Obukhiv District Police Department have launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for violations of fire or industrial safety requirements that have resulted in the death of a person.

    The police are calling on citizens to follow safety rules in their daily lives and when using electrical appliances in order to avoid tragedies and save lives.

    Law enforcement officers in the Kyiv region are calling on citizens to strictly adhere to fire safety rules, especially in their own homes, to monitor electrical appliances and not to leave open flames unattended in order to avoid similar tragedies in the future.

    Firefighters have extinguished a fire on a grass deck in Muromets Park in Kyiv. The incident took place in the evening of 28 March. This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service.

    Firefighters found that the grass flooring and trees had caught fire in separate foci over an area of 1 hectare. Extinguishing the fire was somewhat complicated because there were no access routes for special equipment.
