Servals evacuated from frontline Kurakhove live in orchard – KyivZoo

Servals are extremely rare in Ukraine. Four individuals were evacuated from the frontline town of Kurakhove in Donetsk Oblast to the Kyiv Zoo. This was reported on Facebook by the institution.

They were taken out in 2023. After stabilization, treatment, and adaptation, the first pair – Osiris and Sekhmet – moved on to the next stage of rehabilitation.

For this purpose, the zoo staff arranged a new spacious home for them, taking into account all the peculiarities of the species and individual needs of the animals.

Now the servals are getting used to their new home, and the specialists take care of their comfort every day. The animals received a three-level wooden house, hammocks, tree branches, scratching posts, different types of soil, wooden logs for climbing, and a balanced diet with their favorite meat.

“You can see our cats in the orchard of KyivZoo,” the institution said.

Earlier, mysterious rhinoceros birds could be seen in the Kyiv Zoo. They have come out of their winter home.
