On the Kyiv–Znam’yanka road, a lorry driver ran over a man who was travelling along the road in a wheelchair

In the Kyiv region, law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of a tragic road traffic accident that occurred in the Obukhiv district. The incident took place on 21 April at around 01:08 on the Kyiv–Znam’yanka motorway, near the village of Pidhirtsi.

A 48-year-old driver of a DAF lorry struck a 55-year-old man who was travelling along the road in a wheelchair. This was reported by the police press service.

The victim died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Investigators from the Kyiv Regional Police Department have launched a pre-trial investigation into a breach of road safety regulations that resulted in a fatality. The incident has been classified under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Earlier, in the village of Chabany, the driver of a Hyundai collided with a Kovi motorcycle.
