On the Kyiv-Kharkiv motorway, the driver of a Volvo car collided with a lorry

A fatal traffic accident occurred in the Kyiv region. The accident happened on the Kyiv-Kharkiv motorway, according to the National Police press service.

A 49-year-old driver of a Volvo passenger car failed to maintain a safe speed, resulting in a collision with a truck. A 22-year-old man was behind the wheel of the truck.

As a result of the collision, the driver of the passenger car suffered serious injuries. The victim was hospitalised, but doctors were unable to save his life – he died in hospital.

Following the accident, investigators from the Boryspil District Police Department opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules resulting in death. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

On the Kyiv-Kovel motorway, the driver of a Golf failed to maintain a safe distance and caused an accident involving four cars.
