NBU initiates new project to support defenders of Ukraine

Фінансова ініціатива від НБУ для військових

The Financial Literacy for Defenders of Ukraine project is initiated by the National Bank of Ukraine. The idea is aimed at supporting the military, veterans and their families in financial matters that affect their lives and well-being on a daily basis. This is reported by the press service of the financial regulator.

According to the NBU, at a time when our soldiers are defending the state, finance should not be another front for them. That is why it is planned to create clear and practical information and educational materials on personal finance, banking and non-banking services, payment security, and the rights of financial services consumers.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the military and their families have faced many financial issues, from limited access to banking services in the war zone to problems with credit, fraud risks, and maintaining financial stability.

‘This project is for mobilised and active servicemen and women, veterans, as well as family members of our defenders. For all those who keep the defence – on the front line and in the rear,’ the institution explained.

It is implemented in close cooperation with relevant government agencies, veterans’ and military organisations, the public sector, financial institutions and educational institutions. The project has brought together more than 50 partners who are committed to helping our defenders cope with the financial challenges they have faced in the war.

To better understand their needs, the NBU, together with its partners, will conduct a survey for military personnel, veterans, and their families. You can join the survey until 9 June by answering the main questions here.

On 8 May, food fairs were held in six districts of Kyiv.
