Men cut down a forest and received a fine of more than 2 million

deforestation

The forest near Ivankiv was illegally cut down by a group of people. The men caused damage to the state totalling more than UAH 2.2 million. This was reported by the police press service on Facebook.

Investigators found that a 42-year-old local resident organised a scheme for illegal deforestation. He involved three other people in this process. Together they defined the functions. They had no permits or relevant documents for felling. The offenders systematically cut down alder, aspen and birch trees in forests and forest protection belts.

After the trees were cut down, the logs were loaded onto a vehicle for further transport and sale. In total, they caused damage to the state totalling over UAH 2.2 million.

As a reminder, in Kyiv, a storm toppled many trees and damaged cars.
