Marta Kostyuk started the 2025 US Open with a victory over Katie Boulter from Great Britain

Tennis player Marta Kostyuk from Kyiv got off to a confident start at the 2025 US Open. The Ukrainian athlete defeated Katie Boulter from Great Britain, according to Kyiv Online.

The competition began in New York. Marta Kostyuk also took part in the US Open 2025, which started quite successfully for her.

The match lasted one hour and 38 minutes.

Marta Kostyuk is the only Ukrainian who advanced to the second stage of the competition. Yulia Starodubtseva, Elina Svitolina, and Dayana Yastremska lost their opening matches at the tournament and were eliminated.

In the second round, the Kyiv native will play against Turkish tennis player Zeynep Sonmez.

As a reminder, an international open water swimming competition, OCEANMAN, was organized on one of the bays of the Dnipro River. A total of 142 participants had the opportunity to take part in the 10-kilometer swim.
