Man illegally stored ammunition in the Kyiv region

In the village of Zavorichi in the Kyiv region, police officers exposed a man who was illegally storing combat supplies. Law enforcement officers detained a 52-year-old native of the Chernihiv region, who was found to be in possession of dangerous items, according to the police press service.

During a personal search, criminal police operatives seized two F-1 grenades and UZRGM-2 detonators. According to the suspect, he allegedly found the ammunition in a field during the occupation of the Brovarsky district.

However, instead of reporting the find to the relevant services, the man transported the explosive devices to his home and illegally stored them there. He was detained in accordance with procedural rules and placed in a temporary detention facility.

Investigators under the procedural guidance of the Brovarsky District Prosecutor’s Office informed the man that he was suspected of illegal handling of ammunition under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for up to seven years’ imprisonment.
