Kyiv – Odesa highway under snowdrifts due to bad weather on 11 April

Travelling on the Kyiv-Odesa motorway is quite difficult. The situation is the most unpredictable in the southern regions.

As of 9:30 a.m. on 11 April, traffic on public roads of national importance in Odesa Oblast is free. This was reported by the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Odesa Oblast on Facebook.

The roads are being treated with anti-icing materials. The equipment is on duty around the clock.

According to the agency, the air temperature ranges from -3°C to 0°C

north-west wind up to 9 m/s, gusts up to 17 m/s.
the road surface is mostly dry, in some places wet.

The experts urged to follow the traffic rules, not to exceed the speed limit, use seat belts, and keep a safe distance while driving. When approaching intersections and pedestrian crossings, they urge to pay special attention.

On Friday, 11 April, virtually the entire country will be under the dominance of winter again. Precipitation and low temperatures are significant.

The weather forecast for 11 April calls for significant snow in the afternoon and throughout 12 April. Heavy precipitation is expected on the

rivers of the Dniester basin (Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions), which could cause water levels to rise by 0.3 to 1.0 metres.
