Kyiv metro resumes payment by bank card after large-scale failure

The possibility of paying for travel with a bank card has been restored at the turnstiles in the Kyiv metro. The Kyiv metro is operating as usual, the Kyiv City State Administration said.

In the morning, the service was unavailable due to a technical failure at Oschadbank. Passengers could not pay with a bank card or buy qr tickets in the Kyiv Digital app.

Fares could be paid by:

• transport card;
• qr-code generated in the Kyiv Digital app;
• a paper qr-ticket.

Earlier, the media reported that there was a large-scale terminal failure across Ukraine, with card and Apple/Google Pay payments not being accepted.
