There are currently some temporary restrictions on Intercity train services between Kyiv and Kharkiv. Intercity trains are temporarily not running on the section to
Poltava, but connecting services with sleeping carriages to Kharkiv have been arranged for passengers. This was reported by the Ukrzaliznytsia press office.
Recently, services between Kharkiv and Poltava have been operated using reserve diesel locomotives due to power supply issues. This has often caused delays of up to three hours, and on some days trains arrived after the start of the curfew.
To improve the situation for passengers and ensure more accurate adherence to the timetable, the schedule has been adjusted by introducing these connecting routes. At the same time, repair and restoration work, as well as measures to enhance safety, are ongoing, with the aim of restoring full Intercity services.
It is expected that regular Intercity train services to Kharkiv will resume by the end of March. Other rail routes to and from Kharkiv remain unchanged.
As a reminder, ticket prices for commuter trains have been increased in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
