Kyiv-Basket wins the Ukrainian Cup for the first time

Kyiv-Basket has made history by winning its first Ukrainian Cup.

Sunday, 15 March, was a special day for basketball fans and the capital’s Kyiv-Basket club. In the Ukrainian Cup final, the team faced a fierce battle against Prykarpattia-Hoverla and lifted the trophy for the first time in its history.

The final match proved that Kyiv-Basket deserved this victory. The capital city team dominated the court from the very first minutes, demonstrating cohesive play and unwavering confidence. At one point, their lead reached an impressive 22 points. Prykarpattia-Hoverla, although they tried to put up a fight, could not match their opponents either in scoring or in the key elements of the game.

The final score was 82–64 in favour of Kyiv-Basket.

For Prykarpattia-Hoverla, Reed’s performance was noteworthy, as he scored 25 points and made 5 rebounds. His teammates were not far behind – Startsev contributed 11 points and 5 assists to the team, whilst Morozov showed his class with 9 points and 6 rebounds.

However, it was the Kyiv-Basket players who were the heroes of the evening: Sushkin shone with his scoring, netting 25 points, making 7 assists and grabbing 5 rebounds. Bublik contributed an impressive 22 points to the team’s victory, whilst Klevzunik made a solid contribution with 18 points. It is also worth mentioning Karpyuk, who not only surprised his opponents with 12 rebounds, but also added 2 points and three blocks.

This victory marks a new golden chapter in the history of the capital’s club, as Kyiv-Basket has won the Ukrainian Cup for the first time. Fans can be truly proud of their team’s performance – this triumph is well deserved.
