In the Kyiv region, police are investigating the circumstances of a fatal incident on the railway in the village of Vorzel. A train travelling from Warsaw to Kyiv injured a 50-year-old local resident who was crossing the tracks at a pedestrian crossing, according to the National Police press service.
According to preliminary information, the man did not respond to the train driver’s audible signals. The train driver applied the emergency brakes, but was unable to avoid the collision. The man died at the scene from his injuries.
Investigators from the Bucha District Police Department have launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of traffic safety rules or railway transport operation rules.

The Kyiv Region Police urges citizens to be as attentive and cautious as possible near railway tracks, as failure to follow the rules can lead to tragic consequences.
