In Borodianka, a new high-rise building is being built to replace the one destroyed by Russian troops

Знищений будинок у Бородянці

Borodianka in the Kyiv region, in particular its infrastructure, suffered the most during the Russian invasion. New construction of a multi-storey building has begun on the site of the destroyed one. This was reported by the press service of the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Kyiv Oblast on Facebook.

This is a nine-storey building at 359 Tsentralna Street, which turned out to be a symbol of the destruction in the village caused by the invasion of Russian troops.

Specialists dismantled the destroyed building and began preparatory work for the construction of a new nine-storey building. The building will have 105 apartments and will be an important step in the restoration of the village’s housing infrastructure. The project includes energy-efficient technologies and modern planning.

According to the report, Borodyanka will be rebuilt comprehensively. Specialists will restore the infrastructure and communication networks, including sewage, gas, water and electricity.

‘Each project is another step towards bringing life back to the war-affected towns and villages,’ the post reads.

Bombing of Borodianka in 2022

On 2 March 2022, Russian troops dropped bombs on seven high-rise buildings on Tsentralna Street in Borodianka. The buildings were also shelled from tanks and armoured personnel carriers. Among them was a nine-storey building with three entrances. After the air raid, only ruins remained of the building, and people hiding from the attacks fell asleep in the basement. The Russian invaders did not allow the damage to be dismantled to save people, so it was only after the liberation from the Russians that the destruction was completely cleared.

As reported by foreign media, Russia is amassing forces to occupy land up to the outskirts of Kyiv.
