Ice rink in Kyiv: winter atmosphere and skating conditions

During the winter season, Kyiv turns into a real skating capital, offering residents and visitors numerous venues for active recreation. In the 2025–2026 season, there are a large number of open and indoor ice rinks located in different areas of the capital. The rinks vary in size, skating conditions and comfort level, allowing everyone to find the best option for their preferences.

It is quite easy to find a skating rink in Kyiv. Prices for admission depend on the location and type of skating. At outdoor rinks, usually located in parks and squares, the cost of a session for an adult ranges from average to affordable, and there are discounted rates for children. In addition, almost all locations offer skate rental services, making skating possible even for those who do not have their own equipment.

Indoor ice rinks, designed for larger numbers of visitors and special sports activities, have slightly higher prices, but they provide comfort in any weather and guarantee smooth and safe ice.

In addition to traditional skating, many rinks offer themed events, training programmes for children and adults, and organised sports training. Some locations in parks and squares hold evening sessions with lighting and musical accompaniment, creating a festive atmosphere. For family recreation, there are special areas with instructors where children can learn their first steps on the ice.

The operating schedules for ice rinks in 2025-2026 mostly involve daily operation from morning to evening. Most outdoor rinks operate from December to the end of February or early March, depending on weather conditions. Indoor arenas operate throughout the season without interruption, making them convenient for regular training and visits in any weather.

Kyiv’s ice rinks are becoming an important part of the city’s winter cultural life.

They not only offer active recreation, but also promote health, socialisation, and the development of athletic skills in children and adults.
Seasonal ice events bring families, friends, and colleagues together, creating a festive atmosphere and filling city parks with life even in the coldest months. For many Kyiv residents, the tradition of winter skating has long been an integral part of holidays and weekends, making ice rinks an important element of urban infrastructure and recreation.
