Kyiv was hit by Russian troops on 7 September. A fatality was reported early in the morning, according to the State Emergency Service press office.
Several high-rise buildings were damaged in the Sviatoshynskyi district. A hangar and cars were also destroyed.
A strike was also recorded in the Darnytskyi district. The enemy hit a four-storey residential building, causing a fire on two floors and partial destruction.
The fires have been localised, and emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
According to a statement by Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram, an elderly woman died in a shelter in the Darnytskyi district. Two victims – a young woman and a child under 1 year old – were found in the Sviatoshynsky district.
The Cabinet of Ministers building was also damaged. A fire broke out as a result of the probable downing of a UAV.
Cabinet of Ministers Chair Yulia Svyrydenko commented on the Russian strike. The official said that the government building was first damaged by the Russian attack, particularly the roof and upper floors.
‘We will rebuild the buildings. But the lives lost cannot be brought back. The enemy terrorises and kills our people every day throughout the country,’ the politician said.
Later, Vitali Klitschko reported that rescuers and utility services were working at the sites of the enemy attack. They were clearing the rubble.
The most damage was sustained by a nine-storey residential building, where floors 4 to 8 were partially destroyed. The bodies of two victims were recovered from there, and rescuers are currently searching for a third.
The mayor of Kyiv also reported that the deaths of two people — a young woman and her two-month-old son — had been confirmed.
A search and rescue operation is underway in the most damaged building in the Svyatoshinsky district. There may still be people under the rubble.
We remind you that on Ukraine’s Aviation Day, the Air Force repelled a massive Russian strike, destroying hundreds of targets.
