Frost and sleet: weather on 11 and 12 April and on Palm Sunday

The weather on 11 April in Ukraine will continue to be truly wintry. Wet snow and rain are expected in almost all regions, with sub-zero temperatures and 3 to 5 degrees Celsius during the day. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.

On Friday, 11 April, virtually the entire country will be under the reign of winter again. Precipitation and low temperatures are significant.

The air temperature in Ukraine is recorded at 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. Wet snow and rain is falling all over Ukraine. Only a few regions are not expected to see significant precipitation, including Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Sumy, and Chernihiv.

The weather forecast for 11 April is for significant snow in the afternoon and throughout 12 April. Heavy precipitation is expected on the rivers of the Dniester basin (Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions), which could cause water levels to rise by 0.3-1.0 metres.

Weather forecast for 12 April and Palm Sunday in Ukraine

Weather forecaster Natalia Didenko has announced the weather forecast for 12 April on her Telegram channel.

On 12 April, the daytime temperature in Ukraine is expected to be +7+12 degrees, and up to +14 degrees in Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.

At night, frosts will remain only on islands and will gradually disappear.

Tomorrow will be mostly free of precipitation in most regions, with only sleet in the west at night and the remnants of a cyclone with rain, sleet and strong winds in the south-east during the day.

No precipitation in Kyiv on Saturday. At night it will be around zero, tomorrow afternoon +7+9 degrees.

Sunny +10+15 degrees are expected on Palm Sunday in Ukraine.

According to the meteorologist, the weather in April in Ukraine will be warmer. The average level of indicators will be around +1.5…+2.7 °C compared to the norm. If there is cold, it will not be frost, but frost. Against the backdrop of a positive average daily temperature, we can expect the air temperature to drop below 0°C.

Precipitation in Ukraine in April will be unevenly distributed, with some falling due to convective processes, which are more typical for the warm half of the year. In April, the amount of precipitation will still be in line with the climatic norm.
