Ukrzaliznytsia is to launch a new train No. 228/227 Ivano-Frankivsk – Kramatorsk. This flight will be one of the longest. The details were announced by the company’s press service.
The railways stressed that this route is important from a humanitarian point of view and has strategic and social significance. It will provide new opportunities for travelling, health improvement, rehabilitation, and meetings with relatives.
The first flights:
- from Ivano-Frankivsk – from 29 June and every other day thereafter
- from Kramatorsk – from 30 June and every other day thereafter
Train schedule:
- Departure from Ivano-Frankivsk: 21:52, arrival in Sloviansk: 18:05 the next day, arrival in Kramatorsk: 18:28
- Departure from Kramatorsk – 19:20, from Sloviansk – 19:40, arrival in Ivano-Frankivsk – 16:45 the next day
The train will run through a large number of cities: Lviv, Kyiv, Hrebinka, Lubny, Myrhorod, Poltava, Berestyn, Lozova, Blyzniuky, Barvinkove and Sloviansk.
The train has second-class, compartment and reserved seats.
Upon arrival in Ivano-Frankivsk, passengers from Donetsk region will be able to easily reach other cities of the Carpathian region, including Dolyna and Kalush, by transferring to the regional train No. 867 Kolomyia – Rava-Ruska, as well as to Kolomyia. For this purpose, it will be possible to use the suburban diesel train No. 6534 Ivano-Frankivsk – Kolomyia.
The train route will run through nine regions of Ukraine and will cover 1,358 km. This is one of the longest runs of the modern Ukrzaliznytsia, which runs across the country – from Prykarpattia to Donbas.
The new flight will make travelling much easier for Ukraine’s defenders. Soldiers going on rotation or on holiday, as well as people who were forced to leave their homes because of the war, passengers visiting relatives or going home, relatives of defenders who want to visit them in Donetsk region, and those who want to come to the health resorts of the Carpathian region from the eastern regions for recreation can use the train No. 228/227 Ivano-Frankivsk-Kramatorsk.
Ticket sales will start 20 days before the train departure date simultaneously in the mobile application, on the Ukrzaliznytsia website and at the railway station ticket offices.
As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia urged people to arrive at train stations half an hour before departure due to enhanced checks and gave the reason why.
