From 9 February, another cold snap is expected – weather forecasters

After a brief warming spell, Ukraine is expected to experience another cold snap, which may begin around 9 February. The weather will return to a more winter-like pattern, with a noticeable drop in temperature, although the frosts may be slightly weaker than the severe morning lows of the previous period. This is according to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.

Before that, relatively warm weather will persist for some time – the days will become milder, and the air temperature will rise above freezing in many regions. However, from the beginning of the second ten days of February, cold air from northern latitudes will begin to enter Ukraine, leading to a gradual decrease in air temperature.

This cold snap is likely to last for several days, approximately from 9 to 12 February. During this period, night-time frosts will become more pronounced, and daytime air temperatures will drop below zero, especially in the northern, eastern and central regions. On some nights, the frosts may be quite severe, especially in open and unprotected areas.

This weather pattern means that winter is not yet over and the cold may return after a brief warm spell. A gradual rise in temperature may resume after the peak of the frosts, but at the beginning of the second ten days of February, winter will make itself felt again. This should be taken into account when planning daily activities and trips, as icy roads, severe frost and sudden changes in temperature can affect road conditions and well-being.

The weather forecast for early February was announced earlier.
