During the construction of a kindergarten, the director overestimated the cost of work and embezzled funds

The director of a kindergarten in Fastiv district misappropriated almost UAH 2.8 million of budget funds. The suspect faces up to 12 years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

Investigators found that the director of one of the companies and the Hlevakha village council entered into a contract for the construction of an educational institution. During the relevant construction work, the contractor seized part of the allocated funds from the budget.

The offender submitted false information to the official documentation that did not meet the relevant indicators and standards of the design and estimate documentation. In this way, he deliberately decided to overstate the cost of the actual work performed and materials used.
The company director received almost UAH 2.8 million from the budget as a result of these actions. He was served a notice of suspicion.
