Drunk daughter beats mother to death in Semipolki

The Brovarsky District Court of Kyiv Region has convicted a 36-year-old resident of the village of Semipolky, finding her guilty of causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death.

According to law enforcement officials, last year, while intoxicated, the woman pushed her 53-year-old mother onto a concrete floor during a conflict and struck her several times in the chest and stomach. Medical workers reported the incident to the police.

The victim was hospitalised in extremely serious condition, but later died in hospital. The suspect was detained in accordance with procedural law.

In November 2024, investigators under the procedural guidance of the Brovary District Prosecutor’s Office informed the woman that she was suspected of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. As a result of the trial, she was sentenced to 8 years’ imprisonment.
