Driver of a Renault car ran over a cyclist on the road

An investigation is underway in the Bila Tserkva district into a fatal traffic accident that killed a cyclist. The tragedy occurred on 30 November at the 43rd kilometre of the road connecting the villages of Trushky and Fursy. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv region police.

According to preliminary information from the investigation, a 57-year-old driver of a Renault car hit a cyclist who was riding ahead in the same direction, moving along the edge of the roadway and not violating any rules.

The impact was extremely strong, and the 63-year-old cyclist died at the scene before the arrival of medical personnel.

An investigative team worked at the scene, conducting a detailed inspection, recording the location of vehicles and objects, collecting evidence, interviewing the driver, and establishing the preliminary circumstances of the accident. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for traffic violations that resulted in the death of a person.

Kyiv region police emphasise the need for increased caution on the roads, especially at night, and urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules in order to avoid tragic situations and save the lives of road users.

As a reminder, a foreigner driving a BMW X5 caused a fatal accident on the Kyiv-Kharkiv motorway.
