Cloudy and cool: forecasters have issued the weather forecast for 23 April

The weather forecast for the Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv on 23 April predicts cloudy weather with sunny spells.

No precipitation is expected overnight, but rain is possible during the day. The wind will be westerly and north-westerly, blowing at 7–12 m/s, with occasional gusts of up to 15–20 m/s. Temperatures across the region: 1–6°C at night, 6–11°C during the day. In Kyiv: +4…+6°C at night, +7…+9°C during the day. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Centre.

Dangerous meteorological phenomena are expected: wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s, corresponding to danger level I (yellow), which may adversely affect the operation of energy and utility services and construction organisations, as well as hinder traffic.

In addition, on the night of 24 April, ground frosts are forecast in Kyiv – down to 0–2°C, and across the region – down to -3°C in the air. This constitutes an orange danger level, as such weather conditions may damage early-flowering fruit trees.

Weather forecaster Natalka Didenko added on her Telegram channel that atmospheric fronts will bring unsettled weather across Ukraine on 23 April. In particular, rain of varying intensity is forecast, although the likelihood of rain in the western regions is low. In addition, a strong north-westerly wind with gusts reaching storm force will blow at speeds of 15–20 m/s.

Daytime temperatures will be +8…+11°C across most of Ukraine, and slightly warmer in the west and south, at +10…+14°C. In Kyiv, the night will be dry with temperatures of +3…+5°C, but rain and strong winds are expected during the day, with temperatures dropping to +7…+9°C.

According to the forecaster, the cool weather will continue until May, so it is worth keeping warm clothes to hand for now.
