Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever, Defence Minister Theo Francken and Foreign Minister Maxime Prév arrived in the Ukrainian capital on 8 April. The Belgian officials met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They held a joint press conference.
A photo of the delegation in Kyiv upon arrival was posted on social media by Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevost. He noted that the officials arrived by night train on the morning of 8 April. He called the visit a mission of solidarity of hope and unwavering support for a generation of Ukrainians fighting for their freedom and their future.
“Our first stop: Bucha. A name that has become synonymous with horror and resilience,” the Belgian Foreign Minister said.
Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Vever and Zelenskyy later spoke at a press conference. He said that Ukraine would be able to receive two F-16 fighter jets for spare parts in 2025.
In February, US Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg visited Kyiv.
