The Darnytskyi tram depot has completed a major overhaul of the fourth Tatra T3 tram car.
The modernised tram is already carrying passengers after passing tests on the line. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.
During the repair, special attention was paid to comfort and safety:
Heating system, passenger information system and video surveillance system were installed;
- electrical equipment, passenger seats and doors were updated;
- energy-saving lighting and ceilings were installed;
- yellow warning stripes were applied to the stairs for passenger convenience.
After the overhaul, an air conditioning system was installed.
The overhaul of the tram car began in August this year. On average, such repairs take 3-4 months, depending on the technical condition of the rolling stock and the availability of the necessary spare parts.
Under martial law, the work may take longer. However, the specialists of Kyivpastrans are working hard to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and return the tram to service.
At the same time, major repairs are continuing at the Podil tram depot and the Shevchenko depot.
Each major repair extends the tram’s ‘life’ by another 10 years and makes trips safer and more comfortable for city residents.
We would like to remind you that the legendary retro tram M2-M ‘1892’ has been returned to the historic Podil district. Specialists from the Darnytskyi depot carried out the necessary restoration work.
