On the morning of 2 December, a tragic road accident occurred in the village of Hlevakha in the Kyiv region, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.
At around 4:25 a.m., a truck driver travelling on the T-1023 motorway did not have time to react to a man who suddenly ran out onto the road right in front of the vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries that proved fatal and died before the arrival of medics and law enforcement officers.
Investigative and operational units worked at the scene, documenting the circumstances of the accident and interviewing the driver and possible witnesses. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the accident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for traffic violations that resulted in the death of a person.

Police are establishing all the details of the incident, checking versions regarding the pedestrian’s behaviour, the technical condition of the vehicle and the conditions in which it was travelling.
