“A targeted strike”: Russians destroy Kyiv-Kharkiv Intercity train

Russian troops attacked a passenger train. The Intercity train on the Kyiv-Kharkiv route was supposed to start operating today. This was reported by Oleksandr Petrovsky, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, on Facebook.

He noted that the flights have not been canceled yet. Passenger cars will be used on the route, including those recently manufactured at the factory.

“The impact on the rolling stock was minimized by the quick actions of the employees,” the official said.

Railway workers quickly restored the infrastructure of the damaged junction in Koziatyn. All trains bound for Vinnytsia, Lviv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Odesa will pass through Koziatyn without detouring around the previously damaged section.

Trains will run on backup diesel locomotives on one of the sections of the region. Infrastructure restoration is still ongoing.
