An investigation is underway in Obukhiv district into the circumstances of a fire in which a man died. This was reported by the press service of the police in Kyiv region.
A few days ago, the police received a report from the State Emergency Service about a fire in a two-storey building in the village of Plyuty. An investigative team, rescuers and medics arrived at the scene. While extinguishing the fire, the body of a 55-year-old man was found in one of the rooms of the building. He was temporarily living in the house because he worked as a labourer on a construction site.
The preliminary cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit in the electrical network, but the State Emergency Service will provide its final conclusions after conducting all the necessary examinations and checks.

Investigators from the Obukhiv District Police Department have launched a pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for violations of fire or industrial safety requirements that have resulted in the death of a person.
The police are calling on citizens to follow safety rules in their daily lives and when using electrical appliances in order to avoid tragedies and save lives.
We remind you that a woman died in a fire in a private house in Vlyub.
