Police officers in Kyiv region facilitated the extradition of a man who had been hiding abroad for more than seven years after committing a serious crime in Kyiv region, according to the regional police press service.
In August 2018, the perpetrator used physical violence to commit sexual acts against a 17-year-old girl against her will. He faces up to 12 years in prison for his actions.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Kyiv region police investigators informed the suspect that he had committed acts against the sexual freedom and integrity of a minor (Parts 2 and 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). After the incident, the man went into hiding and in November 2018 left Ukraine for the Federal Republic of Germany.

In December 2025, the suspect was extradited to Ukraine. The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of detention. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the case and bring the man to justice.
As a reminder, a Mercedes-Benz driver hit a woman on the Kyiv-Odesa motorway.
